Headwaters

autumnal 4track instrumentals for you.

it’s called headwaters because when i first pick up my guitar, i often find myself fingerpicking a simple melody that finds me, leaning into the steel strings and hollow wooden body to ground in, grieve and channel solace. this is the raw source of my musical practice. it’s also called headwaters because much of this music was recorded near the secret spring that is the holy headwaters of a (mossy) swamp creek with no name.

🍂🎶🍂🎶🍂

folk music to soothe the senses. rags and waltzes on amped + close mic’d (sometimes de-tuned and oft doubled/verb’d and trem’d) acoustic guitars from 2021. there’s also a bit of casio and a couple tracks where i played richie havens’ black guild electric guitar while it was on loan to me.
