Balm for the soul

21st Century Blues

Black free market, banking on suffering
Selling off life for money and making a killing
War profits, oil profits, cancer profits
And zealots killing for prophets
Getting down on this end-times thing

I’ve got the 21st Century Blues
And these blues keep me working

The Government was supposed to be us
And it’s still supposed to be
We have to work hard to take back our Democracy
We’ve got to strip corporations of all of their tricks
And take the money out of politics

I’ve got the 21st Century Blues
And these blues keep me working

Equality, ecology, resilience, restoration
Care for the elders, care for the children
These are the things we are investing in
Local food, local clean energy
Localize it and there is no enemy

I’ve got the 21st Century Blues
And these blues keep me working

Put my blues to work
(Blues keep me working)
Put my blues to work

From the album

“The argument for the most influential human in the Michigan music uprising of the past decade may begin and end with one Seth Bernard.”

“I know that the future of music is in good hands with people like Seth around to be its caretaker. More importantly, I know the future of our world is in good hands.”

“Paradigm-shifting and culture healing music as resourcing for next-level human stewards of planet earth.”
