Balm for the soul

Bellies of the Leaves

She takes naps at the trunks of trees
And falls in love with all the bellies of the leaves
And they tumble on to her
She sais, “the beauty is in the details”
And she sends me pieces of autumn in the mail

When she laughs, she sets me free
Her hair is shorter than mine
But that’s more than fine by me
The secrets of happiness are written in her pages
Did I mention her smile is dangerously contagious?

Eyes like swelled pieces of sky
Afloat in warm milk
Skin, tender skin
Kissed by sunlight and silk
